Clarify LGPL license by linking to opensource.org instead of the
FSF/GNU site, which changes which version of the license is at what
URL.

Restore PHP 4 compatibility.

Fixes from the author of this engine

- add versions of the mapped diff and 3-way diff classes with
standards-compliant file and class names (I haven't removed the old
ones yet; since this package is still beta I think we can but am going
to double-check first).

- work on clarifying copyright/license headers a bit and some phpdoc
and CS nits.
